On a temporary basis, you might try tuurning off the engine and then restarting. I had an '05 Avalanche with this problem, only mine was the actuator that handled the hot/cold door for the whole thing. Anyway, it's a do-able fix. It'll cost you an arm and a leg if you let "them" do it.

Sounds like the actuator. I have been having problems with my AC so hope to figure it out tomorrow. AC compressor is working, however, blower motor is not coming on. Sucks when you are living in the Houston humidity.
