Your right a lot of people think it’s the cold weather but it’s not

It always seemed to align with the cold weather, at least up here in the panhandle anyways. Or that’s what I always thought when I was a youngn.

now that I’m older I don’t think it does so much.

I haven’t “seen” any activity, but from camera activity, it appears there’s some youngsters trying to get em a little before the big boys whoop their butts.

I noticed last week while hunting that none of the 2 year old or younger bucks I saw had any staining on their tarsal glands, and I don’t know what it really means (if anything). I did find it interesting though.
Here’s one from this evening with clean looking tarsals.

I have seen some little bucks when I have been going to work and back but nothing older one friend of mine said he seen a big one after dark on the highway

Been seeing both doe and buck dead along the roads. That is a clue for sure. Oh...and they weren’t shot but hit by vehicles

Just got back from the ranch a couple of days ago and have downloaded and viewed all the pic's and videos from the game cameras...... lots of does and bucks but they don't seem to be interested in each other yet.....guess it's been too warm but that is about to change.
