you can tell from this pic (from the saddle) that the tree I'm in isn't a telephone pole. It's a gnarly, forked, multi-branched disaster. It's also the only tree on the south side of this meadow that gives me a view. I would have been unable to successfully hunt this area without it.

That being said, a better tree would have been preferable. There will be some tree trimming up there in January.
Looks good but I would definitely trim that 1-2" branch right in front of you.

My 16 year old got her first bow buck Sunday evening. Her target buck as he was the best at this bow only parcel we can hunt.
Her first sit of the season. Made a perfect shot, ran 40 yards.
He was a heavy deer, maybe because we had to haul him 3/4 mile to get him out with a deer cart.View attachment 432452
