That’s odd, I reload and shoot Berger hybrid 140gr out of my sons 260 using Remington brass and H4350 at a velocity of 2,887 fps. It’s the most accurate loading out of his rifle. All in a factory rifle and yes, less than mag length. I can also take full advantage with 140/143gr ELDX/M bullets from Hornady.
Yeah not sure were the 120 grain limit comes from. Been shooting 130 and 140 grain projectiles with absolutely stupid accuracy why out there for years. Wish someone would have told me that I was doing wrong.

My 260 Remington came with a 1-8 twist and is the most accurate factory barrel I have owned. It is a short action and I can find no reason to dislike it. Yes the base of the bullet intrudes slightly into the case but so what?

2024 will see me getting a barrel in .260AI spun up for my Accuracy International AT-X.

I'll be sure to get the freebore long enough to really make the most of the cartridge... I haven't read up on it enough yet to speak intelligently (not that I ever do)...but I'll probably try to keep COL to about 2.950 or so. I'll study reamer options this winter.

The goal is to get to 6.5x284 performance without running pressures high enough that I'm junking primer pockets after 2-3 loadings.

Still a .260 fanboy at heart.

.260Rem is an awesome round. I didn't hesitate to get a .260 to replace my 6.5x55, when it disappeared.

Rem 700 VTR, shoots everything and no issues. Newer production MIGHT be questionable.

I reload 120, 123, 129, 130 and 140 gr.
Picked up some 100 gr, I haven't shot any, yet.
The rifle prefers 123 gr, so that's what I have stocked up.

Sounds like you made a fine purchase, enjoy it.
