The supply is low. Most manufacturers use the same tooling to create 9mm, and they're selling that as fast as they can make it. Also, several newer subcompacts have hit the market in .380; more people are carrying, and pocket-pistols are more popular than ever. Hence, the shortage.

Dang, Bullboy beat me to it!

The cheapest I've seen in Tulsa lately was $29.99 for a box of 50 at Sooner Guns. You'd think with states loosening up restrictions on carry and .380 pocket pistols getting to be as popular as they are the ammo manufacturers would get a separate line going instead of ceasing 9mm production for it.

Supply and demand. .380s never sold as much as more popular calibers like 9mm, .45, .38 Spl, etc. and was never produced in high quantities. When the ammo scare hit, everyone bought it all up, and at the same time a lot of people were getting into the small pocket guns like the P3A-T and the LCP. Demand went up and supplies went down = increase in price.

Anyone remember when 9mm WWB value packs were $9. Sigh...those were the days.
