Anyone shot both and have an opinion on what they liked when compaired??

Looking at the 7.5" BFR vs the 6" Smith. Leaning pretty strongly toward BFR right now.

Use: kill zombie watermelon during the Apocalypse. (IOW: entertain self & friends)

Pro's to BFR for me...single action frame leads to less fail points, looks, comes with weaver rail
Con's: grip selection, not compensated

Don't know much about the bfr but I have a s&w and shoot it quite a bit and like it.
I have been reloading and testing some different loads for it.

As a die hard Smith fan, it pains me to say this. I like the BFR in this caliber. Grips arent an issue, as they use Blackhawk grips. The SAA grip works better to control recoil, in my opinion, and the single action frame is inarguably stronger.

Thanks for both responses.

In ref to liliysdad's comment, I wondered if the shape of the BFR led to better felt recoil reduction compared to Smith. As you said, you like the SAA grip better.
