They damn sure had a lawyer (more likely, a team of layers) draw up those agreements to look out for their interests, so you need one to look out for yours. You need an attorney.

So @filbert , are you interested in his email? From what I read it sounds like they are wanting to put a pipeline on him or access. Probably doesn’t need an attorney, but would be wise to get some advice as to what to expect/how to respond. They will throw some money at him that may/may not be reasonable, depending on what they are intending to do. . .usually their first offer has “them” in mind, not the “landowner”.
Do you know an attorney?
I am messaging you today, thanks for the help.I PM'd @filbert, Our consulting firm handles this stuff all the time and we normally send these out for our clients and help negotiate with landowners. I told him I'd take a look at it and make sure they aren't trying to hose em
A rod is a measurement around 16’ I think.I received a letter from an oil drilling company that wants me to sign a Surface Damage Agreement on some property I own. Does anyone here know anything about these agreements? Like what is the going rate? Is it a permanent agreement? Should I get an attorney? They refer to a "rod". Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
