Point of interest:

A SSA revolver will not fire unless it is fully cocked and the trigger pulled. If the hammer is only pulled back to just before the half cocked position, there is not enough energy in the hammer to set off a primer, and the chamber is not likely advanced to the battery position.

If the hammer is retracted anywhere past the first notch but not fully cocked then released, the hammer will catch in that first notch and the firing pin will not touch the primer.

Only from the fully cocked position can the hammer be released and strike the primer. The hammer will fall so fast that there is no way anyone could release the trigger fast enough for the hammer to catch on the first notch(half-cocked position). The hammer must be fully cocked and the trigger pulled to fire.

There is no mystery here. It is basic mechanics.

It should be a no brainer. More people die from automobile crashes each year. Autos can be dangerous. So what do we do? We have training on how to use them being a must have before usage.
Really, I thought every person coming across the southern border was just handed a set of keys.
