Well it took me 25 years to draw the tag and a little under 3 hours to fill it. Didn’t mind I just wanted to get a goat in Oklahoma so that was accomplished! Some of you may remember my post after the draw. Controlled hunt general tag for Texas county. Solo hunt so this was the best picture I could get by myself.

360 yards with my Kimber in 6.5 creedmoor shooting 129 grain interlocks.

Very nice. Antelope hunting is my favorite hunting. I’ve taken many around Lamar Colorado and will never tire of hunting speed goats. Hunting antelope moved me to long range shooting/hunting and thought me to expand my horizon with regards to hunting open country antelope and mule deer

As far as taste, they are better than elk or deer (mule or white tail).

Congrats! That’s a fine looking trophy!
Been putting in for that hunt since it started. I’ll probably croak before getting drawn. Same with elk.

Yea I feel very fortunate. Lot of people never get drawn. I’ve been extremely blessed in the draws. About 20 years ago I got drawn for a cow tag in the Wichita Mts. That’s back when it was once every ten years. Now I’m trying for a bull!!

You can buy landowner tags out there but they aren’t “cheap”. The landowner I hunted off of gets $1500 each for his buck tags.
