The Tea Party movement allowed some very hateful hateful and often, racist, rhetoric in their name. You guys can equivocate and deny all you want, but that is the truth. That said, I don't believe the majority of Tea Partiers are either racist or hateful. I think many are politically unsophisticated, but genuinely are distressed by their perception of where the country is headed. Unfortunately, their "perception" has been manipulated for other people's agendas.

So because someone's conservative, they must be politically unsophisticated? In other words, if they knew better, then they would be liberal? That's the general sentiment I seem to get from a lot of liberals.

The Tea Party movement hasn't allowed or disallowed anything, because they whole basis of the Tea Party is that there is no leadership. It is a grassroots movement, not a political organization. People may have done dispicable things in the name of the Tea Party, but the movement can't protect itself from that. There's no one person who would be able to come out and condemn such an act in the name of all Tea Partiers.

It's funny how some educated people actually believe the Tea Party is an official political party with actual candidates that "allows" racist activity or condones violence.

Sad.
:werd:

I find it even more sad that they (the TP haters) call out the TP movement for "hate speak" and as being "racist". All I've ever heard from the TP is pro-freedom stuff and the original intent of our founders and how what is going on now is in conflict with that. Now I've heard countless acusations, but not seen a single video or heard a single sound bite.

You're right sad...

Oh yes so so sad. I am weeping, tears on my iPad, as I type this.

Conservative does not equate with unsophisticated. There are as many unsophisticated liberal voters as conservative.

Nice try by the three of you. If we are still so sad, shall we exchange sympathy cards?

This is a key point. There is no leader of the tea party movement. In fact, if you start mentioning potential "leaders" to a group of tea party activists, you will find that some fraction of them don't really like the person that another fraction supports and so on.

I.E.: I consider myself part of the tea party movement, but I do not support Palin and generally don't appreciate it when she opens her mouth. However, many of my friends are fans of Palin.

Those who see the tea party of a homogeneous group don't understand it.

No one said he was a member of the Tea party, just that a Tea party candidate created an environment in which this nut felt free to act. It was also stated that the Tea party is fueling hatred and violent feelings. Which leads me to believe that the persons making those statements somehow hold the Tea party and their supporters responsible for this man's actions.

Judging by how fast those statements hit the air, it appears those statements were conjured up some time ago and just waiting on the shelf for the first opportunity to use them.

Whats all of this talk about the Tea Party anyway. This jacks$$ was a self proclaimed socialist, which goes completely against the Tea Party movement. This was a sick man that did a horrible thing. As for the Tea Party "creating this kind of atmosphere", I call BS. Anyone seen any of the video clips of the violent hate speech from the leftists lately? If not, then you should because this is the kind of thing that the left is promoting. Cramming their kind of "hope and change" down the throats of everyone, whether they want it or not and if you try to stop them then this is what happens.

TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona sheriff helping investigate the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and others says the gunman may not have acted alone.

Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik said at a news conference in Tucson on Saturday that authorities may have a photo of another suspect.

Dupnik says officials believe a suspect in custody may have come to the grocery store parking lot with another person, and that person was in some way involved.

Now if you could just settle on if being Palin's words or the Tea Party's words, you could figure it all out.

I don't care if it were Palin, the TP, the Commies, Obama, the Buddhists or the Baptists. If you create an atmosphere wherein violence and contempt is acceptable, you bear responsibility.

Hard to type because I am so so so sad, since I just don't get it.
