I don't know why my original thread was deleted since the match has yet to happen? I just received this update about the match. Thought I would share for those of you on the fence about going to this match.

I want to acknowledge receipt of your entry form to the 2010
Arkansas Section Multi Gun Championship match, and welcome you to
this exceptional opportunity for fun and games.
Stages are in the final development phase (which means. I
ain't quite finished yet). Count on 11 stages, with a great mix
of guns. Round count is nudging 300 right now, but may come In a
little below that number. As always, expect the unexpected at
Old Fort Gun Club. Rule MG 5.1.8 is a favorite here. Enhanced
score disappearing clays will probably appear (and disappear),
with some added help from our Sporting Clays Director who might
be throwing some birds and rabbits on the "Pull" command.
Whatever we can think of to make the match fun and memorable.
When stages are finished, you will get them on this email list.
Longest shots will be rifle at 300 yards. due to our range
.limitations.
Prize table is coming along, and will have something for
everyone. Plenty of guns, fun toys and accessories. Lunch will
be BBQ Arkansas Road Kill, and is served on Saturday as part of
your entry fee. Match format will likely be 7 or 8 stages on
Saturday. finish on Sunday morning, get you on the road after
prizes and awards by mid Sunday afternoon.
For those of you returning to this match, the good news is
that OFGC has built 6 new bays since last year. That means there
won't be the bottle neck on the 100 yard bay, with 2 stages. Bad
news, a single Stage From Hell may be on the 100 yard bay, to
test you ability with all three guns, including slugs, from close
and porsonal to a long ways off.
Information on the Match Hotel will be coming soon (which
means, I ain't finished negotiating yet). In the meantime,
please feel free to contact me with any questions. Daytime
number is (479) 785-4558, email is bC1Cc,boU,el 1 (dsbcoloba 1 • net.
We look forward to seeing you here the end of October.

Thanks Jesse. I learned a lesson that I have taught. Never take a stage or target for granted.

Congrats to you too sir. Kicked some ass in tactical and took 4th out of 72.. That is awesome buddy.

On stage 3, the one with the clay swingers. During my walkthrough I did not "what if" on the transition to rifle and I got sucked in too tight to the right side of the center port, which obscured the wide open rifle target on the right. Never saw it during the stage. That was a quick 40 points to lose all because I had my plan and quite looking at the stage. No worries, it happens but it cost me a match win for sure. Even if you think you have the stage down to an art, walk it again and look through all the ports from different angles.

Ouch! That sucks man.

I watched Taran walk those stages a lot and I tried to mimic him. I was definately not getting my plan ingrained in my head like I should have been in the past.

I always like to ask Chris or another shooter how they are going to shoot it. I think it helps them by verbalizing it and it helps me too. I don't think Chris likes it when I try to talk him into gaming it and shooting it the riskiest way possible though.

I will always ask how folks are shooting it. I had a great plan and executed it well, except the obvious. Was in the 20's for the stage, and that target would have not taken that much time.
Anyway, it helps to do things like that and learn from them.
