Right now Bushnell is looking good and not made in China for some of them. I am thinking about a 223 or 22lr rifle scope in the 100-300 dollar range.

Who has the most for the money brand-wise?

I have been buying 1-4×24 LPVO from Tacticon and recently purchased a 1-6×24 from them. They come in nice packaging with a real decent mount and hardware including little spirit levels to aid instalation.
5.56, 22LR conversion, 300 BO, 7.62x39 and 6.5 Grendel all good with the 1-4 model. I just put the 1-6×24 on a 20" 6.5 Grendel but have not shot it yet.
The illuminated reticle is way better on the 1-4 model than the 1-6 where it is too small and dim to use as red dot in 1x. But the 1x target aquisition on the 1-4 is excellent for me shooting both eyes open.
I have been getting some discounts from Tacticon that has me paying less than $120 each for the 1-4 kits
I recently traded off an 18" 6.5 Grendel 3-9×50 Sig Whiskey that was decent glass for under $300.

for $300 I would get one of the entry Leupolds
Prices have gone up a little now, but a couple years ago, you could buy Zeiss Conquest 3-9 scopes for $300.

I have a couple older Nikon Buckmaster 3-9 scopes that I gave $100 each for, and they’ve been really good scopes.

I really wish they still sold those Nikons...those were great even compared to scopes that cost much more.
