I may be totally off base here, but Monstrum scopes have done just fine for me. Very clear glass and hold zero well. I've got several. With that being said, I don't have much experience with the so-called 'premium' scopes. If 'cheap' works, that's fine with me.

+2 on the monstrum, I have a couple very nice scopes.for the money
I also have had good luck with the sniper scopes. They have some feature
Packed units for the money, and customer service is second to none.

And I could give up one of my 3-9 Nikon scopes.
I have been hooked on the Chicom Redfields lately.
Those are Academy sports house brand now with Lifetime warranty through them and many on sale now.
I would go to a store and look at those and see if you like them if you want something brand new.
Heck look through many scopes, they have all different brands .
