Let the stadiums turn into ruins of the past where entitled adults playing a game were the subjects of idolatry by the masses.

We really NEED to wake up as a country (as a WORLD) and realize paying athletes the salaries we do is just crazy. But that's free market... people paying for what they want, namely entertainment.

Bread and circuses...

I think I need to go watch Gladiator tonight.

My theory is that people live vicariously through athletes; getting the rush of seeing someone do something very well after putting in all the work to get there. And they're willing to pay big bucks for that thrill.

Instead of putting in the effort to do something well themselves.

You're absolutely right. Same reason we pay for TV to show us people doing alot of things we're not willing to make the sacrifices necessary to experience.

Here, but occasionally There.
Good riddance. If we could speed that up I wouldn’t shed a tear. Same for MLB and NBA.

Wait...

...we can salvage the stadiums and NOT let them rot away.

Open them up for flea markets and gun shows. For the latter, they could have berms installed somewhere and buyers could "test" their potential purchases.

How are you going to defeat this in a real answer?

Honestly, I think it will be a constant back and forth. Americans don't have the stomach to get rid of communists like we should, and most - even though they claim to despise the left, continue to fund them through purchasing entertainment, give them lip service when their bolshevism is manifested through "diversity" or "inclusiveness" programs.

Virtually ALL media is run by the same group of folks. As long as Americans are addicted to entertainment, and can only get their "news" through these channels, they will continue to be led down a path that does not benefit us.

Unmarked mass graves, panicked families fleeing the country, one-way helicopter flights...that's how you stop communism. We have shown that we just don't have the backbone for that, and now a whole generation is here that openly advocates for removal of the constitution. As a country, we created this.

We're not going to defeat it, except in small pockets of the country, I believe.

I wonder what it is about human nature that makes people seem to repeatedly want socialism/communism type systems over individual based systems.
Of course a lot of us value individualism, personal responsibility, etc. but it looks like that is close to being overthrown by those who don't value those things.
Does this come from those in power leading the sheep down the dark path over time? I see a lot of evidence of that, but how can people go so willingly and blindly down that road?

I think one thing behind our willingness to let it happen is our (conservative?) basic nature is to want to be left alone and to leave others alone unless overtly threatened. We value freedom of thought and expression, even to the point of letting darkness creep in and overtake us.

There is a through the summer off season flea market at the University of Hawaii weekly football sacrifice stadium in Honolulu.
