Birds in my backyard....but no Hummers

I live in an addition up North Penn....North of Quail Springs a mile or so and man-oh-man, I've got the birds!! Except humming birds...for some reason avoid my house like the plague.

All kinds of doves....even a very young one in my backyard today.

Cowbirds:

Wrens of some sort:

Some sort of "larger" sparrow type looking bird: I think a Rufous Crowned Sparrow??

House Finch:

And now some sort of Wood/Brown Thrush?? Looks like an brown/orangeish roadrunner:

Meadow Larks, Golden Headed Blackbirds, Blue Jay, Robin, Mocking Bird, Yellow Finch, Cardinals....and even a Sharp Shinned Hawk. He...or she has the most awesome red eyes.

This sucker gives the pigeons and sparrows H*LL....it eats all...I mean ALL of the pigeon...from the rooter to the tooter!!! This dang bird just leaves a small pile of feathers!!! I nicked name him the Red Baron.

My yard is now busier than Wal Mart during Christmas!!!

I get anything that flies into my backyard EXCEPT Hummingbirds?????




Forgot...I know its an insect. I even get the solid black spider and the yellow spotted..( big as a small dog) wasps...these suckers are pretty big in size.

i feed birds year round. get an interesting mix. i've had Red Tail Hawks, Cooper Hawks, and about 5 years ago had a Goshawk, that was a huge bird, hung around for about a week. Red Tails built a nest across the street back yard, some Mississippi Kites built a nest 3 houses down in a huge pecan tree.
