I really can't believe anyone seriously thinks that the presidential vetting processes would let an extremely important fact like not being a natural born citizen slide by.

Birthers are grasping at straws at best and are latent racists at worst.

You can voice your disagreement with the President's politics all you want, but if you believe the entire political system is corrupt to its core (and John McCain didn't challenge it), you're probably clinically paranoid and should seek medical attention.

There's nothing latent or hidden about it. It's active and out in the open for everyone to see. I wonder what they'll attack now that the whole birther issue has been laid to rest. Something equally ridiculous I'm sure.

I want him and every other politician with a Socialist Agenda and / or an Anti-Second Amendment position to be gone, voted out of office. Those who support him should just go ahead and turn in their weapons now. I'm sure their "good" president would appreciate it, might even earn 'em a gold star!

That's fine. I applaud your political views. But don't go about making it a reality by stoking the flames on a conspiracy theory that has time and time again been debunked. It just makes those who do look desperate and sad.

My friends just finished registering their kids in school. They were required to "first" provide a birth certificate. To get a job legally, a person has to fill out an I-9 form with proof of citizenship or authorization to work. That's been my beef with this whole thing from the start. A little kid can't get into school without a birth certificate, but becoming the President of the country is ok.

This whole process should have been gone through while the candidates were still running. Nobody should be allowed to get into office without first being qualified to even run for office. To me, it's not about Obama...it's the whole process. I don't care who it is, the person must meet the requirements; or the person is not eligible to hold those positions.

He did meet the requirements. Just because he didn't show the public his birth certificate doesn't mean he didn't get it verified by whoever is in charge of that process.

If a random person challenged your friend's kid's registration in school, would your friend be obligated to show this random person his/her kid's birth certificate? No. Of course not. Besides privacy concerns, the random person is not in charge of admissions.

Obama probably should have displayed his birth certificate to the public in the long form soon as the controversy arose and became even semi-popular, but he was under no obligation to do so. The people who needed to see it did see it. End of story.

How do you know? Who were those people? Without documentation, it's all just assumption. We the people are the elected officials' employer not random people. People elected into office work for us. If your employer demanded that you fill out an I-9 and prove your citizenship for your job, are you going to say 'No...I already showed it to someone else, and they said it's ok?"

I have to disagree...it's not End of story. The system is broke and needs fixed.

Amen. Go after his policies, positions, record or whatever. Whay aren't these reasons good enough to go after him? Why must it be his birth certificate or calling him a Muslim or some other ridiculous horse ****?

Complex issues don't fit in a 20 second sound bite on FOX. It's a matter of efficiency. If you go past 20 or 30 seconds people have to think about what they're being told. It's harder to manipulate your audience when you make them think.
