Ok, so my oldest daughter was given the assignment to watch and write a review about Bowling for Columbine for her English comp II class. She asked me to watch it with her as she knew I would be able to "critically" evaluate the film with her and give her some talking points. I had never seen this film before. I can honestly say that after watching it, I want Michael "I'm a fat pig" Moore to give me my 2 hours of my life back. That was the biggest pile of steaming poo dripping with innuendo and faulty comparisons I have ever seen in my life.

I did give my daughter several differing views from Mr. Moore. I only hope her professor doesn't lower her grade based on her opinions.

havnt seen that one. I watched Capitalism a Love Story a long time ago and thought it was horrible. By the end of the movie he is basically saying that capitalism has failed and that we should all adopt socialism or communism. If he thinks our Republic has failed so much than i think it would be a good idea to send him to N. Korea for awhile and see how successful they are doing.

I've not seen the Columbine movie but have seen most of the Capitalism one. Since he doesn't care about what is America, Michael Moore is cordially invited to GTFO of it.

I've watched it 2 or 3 times over the years. It sheds light on a few interesting and valid points, but overall it's a pretty ****** documentary in my opinion. I always thought it contradicted itself in that it seems, at least to me, to assert there is no link between gun ownership and gun violence (the Canada part, etc.) while at the same time implying stricter gun control is a viable solution to a social problem and a culture of fear and violence in America.

Moore is the Nickleback of the documentary world. Take away the flash and the success, and you find there is no substance to warrant it. Most every Moore documentary is 40% topical, and 60% Moore jerking off via film making.

If you watch Bowling with a critical eye... Moore makes a back-handed pitch for "Gun Rights" He got so busy trying to make Heston look bad...he made him look good.

Moore- he's a pot stirrer pure and simple. He's laughing all the way to the bank.

Classic! Nickleback wrote the book on being a joke of a band. The whole existence of Nickleback is more like a mockumentary, sorta like Spinal Tap. The only thing worse than Nickleback is their bastage stepbrother, Creed. Well, them and Michael Moore.

Ridge, your opinion of Moore is much higher than mine.

Well, I mean I can read a piece or watch a documentary and still consider it good even if I disagree with the writer/producer. That is if it actually was good. I don't think Moore is good. I've watched docs with tiny budgets made by kids that are better than what he puts out.

I've watched several Moore docs, and all the ones I've watched I've watched at least twice. They bounce all over the place, have no consistency, and always have more of a political stump-speech feel to them than a documentary feel. What I mean by that is a good documentary will usually present information and raise questions in a way that is not patronizing to the viewer. The viewer shouldn't feel like he's being told to feel a certain way about something; he should feel like he is learning about something. Moore does that at times, but 5 minutes later you get to a part that sounds like letters to the editor of the local paper put into documentary format.

I was generous on the 40/60 split, tho.
