Civilian control (politicians) of the military is a constitutionally mandated fact. I get what you’re saying, but... it just is the way it is. The problem, it seems to me, is that the politicians have often tended to micromanage rather than letting strategic and tactical decisions be made by the Commander on the ground. (Or the air).
