So the other day I was cleaning my marlin 795 and I took the bolt out to get a good cleaning and in the process of putting the recoil spring back in I did not put it in correctly and the spring bent. I had to replace it and it's real tricky to get it back in. The best way I found is to tilt the bolt to where you can see the hole in the bolt where the spring goes, then put the spring and pin in the hole and compress it with some needle nose plyers. Then slide the bolt back into place and at the same time put the retaining pin in the holding notch. Other wise you will probably bend the spring as I did.
