I've been thinking this for a couple of months now..... the next Belushi
Hes not that stupid. After 100 episodes the show went into syndication- there have been 177 episodes. So hes making money even while the show is not in production. And its not CBS paying him his residuals on the syndication deal either. So as far as he's concerned,they can go **** themselves. And they know this too. Plus,if they cancel the show outright they have to pay off his contract most likely. He comes out ahead no matter what.
And theyre going to cancel their cash cow? The #1 show on their network? Not likely. Chuck Lorre will probably be the one to lose his job. On screen and off screen Charlie is just playing the same character. They created him,they paid him millions,he spent the millions having fun,and now that theyve built the monster,they cant contain him. Its laughable. The poor shmuck is going to laugh all the way to the bank on this one. And then probably end up dead, coked up, on top of some hot hooker or two. What a way to die. Beats alot of other ways I could think of. By the way,its my favorite show on TV. **** Jon Cryer. He hasnt had a good role like this one since he was Ducky. He should feel lucky.

May be true,but,even a fatcat like Charlie Sheen will eventually run out of sympathetic judges soon same as Lindsey Lohan has apparently on this latest round of troubles for her. ( The judge told her last week that she will be spending time in jail this time- possibly significant time too- since it looks like she may be too dumb to take the 6 months in jail plea bargain offered to her and take her chances with a jury). Charlie may want to take note of his little friends latest developments.
As far as a replacement for Charlie on the 2 1/2 Men show,slim pickins out there on a replacement IMO. There doesnt seem to be too many hardy partiers left in Hollywood these days with the looks and charm who could do that role the way it should be played- especially since that role does take a bit of character study to play the part. Not too many guys still getting all ****ed up in their 40s these days in Hollyweird. That are alive. Or not on celebrity rehab. Leif Garret has the musicial talent and the party history,but his looks are gone. Christian Slater has the looks maybe,but he's not as smooth or charming as Charlie. They could probably find a good looking 40ish actor and teach him to 'act' like a drunk manwhore,but it wouldnt be the same, and the audience would just quit watching. They might as well face it,without goodtime Charlie the show is dead.
Charlie will just kick back with his hooker buddies and collect his residuals on the syndication of the show,do a film here and there or commercials for alcohol,bowling shirts and Vegas clubs,etc.
