China's first carrier starts sea trials

(CNN) -- China's first aircraft carrier sailed out of the northeastern port of Dalian for sea trials Wednesday morning, the state-run news agency Xinhua reported.

Not much for us to be concerned about but much of the rest of the world should be. It is large enough to be a threat.

The article I was reading was stating that Taiwan was building anti-ship missles in part as a response to this.

China has had this old Soviet era carrier since 1998. I don't think it's even fully functional; sea worthy trials is what they are running. It'll be around 10 years before they can build another one. All speculation of course...

Their military as a whole worries me,they believe in volume and have one of the most advanced and productive missile programs in the world if not the most advanced along with their military space program which we saw a tit for tat show between them and the U.S. a few years ago with the satellite shootdown showdown.
I have no doubts whatsoever that they want to be the world super power
