This gun doesn't have a half cock, I was refering to holding the hammer about half way back, it should take about that far before the bolt should release.

The back edge of the bolt should not be rounded, that was not done at the factory but by gunsmiths looking to do cheap repairs or by excesive wear.

The gun shop that has this gun sold me a type 99 arisaka a few years ago that was rechambered to 30-06 and had a deep gash in the chamber, had to return it. also said gunshop doesnt have a gunsmith to check out their used guns they are selling. I asked one of the employees awhile back if the cylinder should be able to turn with the hammer down they said it was okay. There was no import marks on it whatsoever

If you really want the gun offer him half for it and then have it fixed.

If it is not too far from Tulsa I would be glad to meet you there and look at it for you as long as the pawn shop owner doesn't mind me taking his gun apart to look at it.
