Gov. Stitt signed it into law last month. It takes effect Nov. 1st: https://dailycaller.com/2019/05/01/oklahoma-zoo-guns-parks/I believe I heard there is legislation in the process that will make it legal.
That wouldn’t apply to a building/structure if it is owned or leased by a government, right? Too lazy to read the bill right now. Wouldn’t be surprised if that is not the situation with the science museum though. Everything these days seems to be run by public/private partnership.Gov. Stitt signed it into law last month. Was just at the zoo Friday this past week. I was carrying my Glock 19 through the entire zoo..... No issues
Sadly I understand this too well.. not allowed to bring my personal gun on federal premises. But when I'm not at work I don't go anywhere without a gun. Sign or no sign. There's only 2 places, which I rarely visit anyway, that I go without a gun which is the bank, when I go inside(rare) and the post office (which is also rare). Other than that you would never be able to even tell I had one on me. But my Walmart and Target and etc trips... I'd rather be kicked out of a place, if somehow they magically could tell, than to go unarmed. Especially with all the craziness getting crazier lately. Of course I'd respect the notion of if they told me to leave or put it up I'd follow up and leave, but till then my gun is like my phone or wallet. It's almost always on me or within reach. My brother is the supervisor of security there. I asked him about this and the official response is its not allowed. That being said they are not frisking everyone when they come in. Just make sure its not visible. If its spotted they will ask you to put it in your car or leave the premises. The same rules apply as to any other place of business that has no firearms signs. My brother is a big 2A supporter like I am, but he has to follow company policies.
