The wood is strong and houses used to be made from them.
If you want them dead drill a hole into it with a paddle bit and pour in some of this in the hole about twice a month.

I like them a little bit.. the wood once seasoned burns clean and hot and does not smell bad when burning it..
And when the cotton woods are shedding that means the catfish are ready for some good catching.
