Found out in a campground in Moab UT back in 2000 that the cotton in quantities burns in a quick moving pretty flame!
If you like finding morels in the spring................GPS mark all your freshly dead/blown over cottonwoods for next year, there's a good chance they'll produce shrooms next year if the area has some shade and moisture.
Hate 'em. I have two close to me. One in the neighbor's yard to the east and another to the south. I would be thrilled if they both came crashing down ... as long as they fell in the right direction! If not, they might take out my fence and/or storage building. It's been 'snowing' around here for about the last ten days. And, yes, I can look forward to cleaning out the A/C ... every year.
