In our case, I use the backup camera on our Expedition. The wide angle lenses on those cameras are great for letting one see back and off to the side. They give an almost 180 degree view behind me.

Cherry Street in Tulsa takes the diagonal parking to weirdness by requiring you to back into the spaces.

yes. It's called reverse angled parking and is becoming more common as it's thought to be safer for traffic and pedestrians.
Pull past the spot, reverse in. Then when you go to leave you should be able to see the oncoming cars (and any people) as you pull forward into traffic.
It's different so it freaks some people out.
Seattle has this as well, but it's rare
