Cherry Street in Tulsa takes the diagonal parking to weirdness by requiring you to back into the spaces.

I don't remember seeing this. How long has it been that way? I just remember normal parallel parking.

OK, I just looked on Google Earth. That is only on the North side of the street. It is always full. Parrallel on the south side of 15th.

You wouldn't have any such problems in San Francisco's Downtown. The Central District (Union Station and every block surrounding it in all directions) no longer has any - any - parking spaces. City Council had all parking spaces removed and replaced with bicycle paths.

Of course, neither the state nor the city bothers to advertise [to tell anyone in advance] that there is no longer any NEED for parking downtown. Every single business in that entire area(!) has closed and locked up. Every one of them. Every store front is 'for sale.' Hehe... that ghost-town couldn't happen to a more deserving place.

SF was already short a hundred thousand or so spaces.

Worse, the city’s two largest hotels, the Hilton (1,920 rooms) and the Parc55 (1,020 rooms) have ceased paying both their mortgages [$750 million total] and their property taxes – and the owner has left the state...

Might be interesting to find out how/where the city is collecting enough revenue to even keep its own doors open.
