Do You Use a Patch Loop or a JAG?

I usually use a patch loop to coat the bore with cleaning solvent, but I use a JAG after brushing the bore to push all the grunge out rather than drag it out, as with a patch loop.

I had an uncle that claimed that the brush/patch combo was the "right" way. I have always used a jag on everything, but I can't tell you how that habit got started, it's just the method I've always used.

With pistols, I use the rod and brush that Glock sends with all their guns. It has a built in patch loop.

With my long guns, I use a Hoppes Boresnake.

Jags all the way except shotgun I will wrap a patch on brush and soak it. Not impressed with snakes and loops are a joke vs a jag imo.
