My buddy has a wind row between two fields. One is pasture with crab grass and dove weed the other side is rotated with milo,corn, wheat and sesame. We have had some incredible December hunts there

You know why they made a December season? Plenty of dove still around into December.
I'll admit I'm spoiled on good dove hunting. My definition of "good dove hunting" is when you can't keep your gun loaded and have to stop periodically to let it cool off. Never had that happen after about the 2nd week in September.

Some dove don't even migrate from here. My dad always called those that hung around all year "natives".

Shadow, its like fishing, it is often about being in the right spot at the right time. I harvested 13 dove the first week in October last year in about 35 minutes at a place that was pretty slim on dove a month earlier.
