Dove Prospects

I saw more doves while driving around early this morning than I did all day yesterday, but it was still not enough to want to expend much effort hunting them. There appeared to be several people hunting the refuge on the north side of Hwy 11, but I didn’t hear any shots.

9 birds came into the pond tonight….. 1 left. Pretty slow evening.

The getting is pretty good out in Boise City. Took 17 minutes for my brother and I to limit yesterday morning and a little over an hour tonight. The antelope took a couple days. I got the buck Thursday evening, my brother got the doe today.

8 more dove this evening hunting a pond as well as getting to watch some great dog work.
We left no birds behind.

We shot a few Saturday morning in Texas panhandle. Not as good as previous years but had plenty of shooting. Shot close to same Sunday morning.

Only two tonight for me, but the crew did much better. Another great day of watching a dog work.

Fortunate to have invites from different friends to go on dove hunts. Jax was the only canine retriever on all of the hunts except tonights hunt. Tonights hunt was fast and furious with 5 shooters, 5 limits and 4 dogs. We were done hunting in about 2 hours.
