Today in the stand

I was tired of sitting at home all summer so grabbed my rifle and went looking for hogs. Sitting in my stand, after being there less than a minute after first light I saw two of the biggest bucks I ever have seen that popped out of the woods. They have seemed to have missed my cameras as they were new ones. I saw four bucks total and a few does with fawns in two hours.

Gosh I am ready for season. Two months and a week to go. Hopefully you all are getting the itch. If you are, go sit and watch them in your spots. It was a lot of fun.

Also, dove and teal is just around the corner.

I'm sitting IN THE HOUSE and just got bit by one of the little ****ers. I can't imagine being out on an acreage right now.

That’s what I was going to say! After almost needing a blood transfusion from all the bites last week, there’s no dang way I’m going to sit in a stand.

I didn't even put on bug spray and didn't get a bite. Remember, I was gripping in another thread about no water. That is the one positive about being dry, no skeeters.

Way less humidity this evening, dry sw wind this evening and we sit outside and enjoyed the evening with zero flies, horn flies, Buffalo gnats or mosquitoes for the first time all summer. Cooled off nicely.
