I have it on good information that the S&W M1917 has a 39 yard effective range.

It is, the 3rd best 45acp ever made. Right behind the 1911 and S&W 1917, but way better than the Glock.

I dont think I got a pic, but the Type 14 pistol had an effective range of 20 yards/ meters.

Anyone that does not feel their 1917 revolver is good past 39 yards can give it to me. Colt or Smith makes no difference. While the Smith is my favorite large bore revolver, I am not a gun snob and will shoot anything I can.
