At least compared to the wood chipper, this guy never felt a thing. But ad far as clean up... I would see no reason to try and salvage the engine... If it were my plane. Drop it, burn it in a bon fire, and have what's left melted down.

Dunno what they actually do, and I do not Care to.

I have no desire to ever be anywhere near a running turbine, I do not like even being seated next to the wing, inside the plane.

The turbine will be repaired. No way in heck Boeing would scrap a multi million dollar turbine.

Six years ago, folks. If it's been repaired, it's been in service for quite some time.

Ouch! My grandad has told me about some guys getting nailed by planes while he was on a carrier during WW2. He said there was one guy that a plane landed on. Just smeared him across the deck.

Same thing happened in my Harrier squadron before I was there. They were VERY anal about staying out of the suck zone after that. There was no video, but they always made a point to tell us how bad it was.


I feel for the guy, but you get TRAINING about this from DAY ONE!

That mechanic was 65 years old and had decades of experience. The NTSB report is interesting to read.
