Varget is my favorite. Its not temperature sensitive and produces consistant velocities.
My load depends on the bullet weight and design used at the time. Its usually a compressed load so expect to hear some crunching when pressing the bullet in if you go that way.
I've had good results with Varget for heavier bullets in my Mini-14 and great accuracy with Benchmark + 40 grain bullets in my .223 Mini-Mauser. I've tried CFE 223 in some .223 loads, but was disappointed so far, although it is the most accurate powder I've ever used in my 1969 vintage Remington 700 .22-250. I'm using Sierra 55 grain BlitzKing bullets in it.
