It seems to me that for the last several years the population has been going up. Seems like there are more each year. I sure wish they tasted like quail.
becoming an absolute nuisances here in OK City...... and they are now called "resident" Canadian geese. and ya cant hunt, molest harass or disturb their little geese pyschie under state and federal law.
I actually saw a flock/gaggle/bunch of Snow Geese yesterday in Moore. I have never seen light geese anywhere near this area, kinda cool, but the Canada's are everywhere thats for sure.
Same around our neck of the woods. Toward evening with a clear sky you can see them by the hundreds flying from the feed fields back to the roosting area.
I saw 30-40 Snow geese on a pond out east on I-40 between McLoud & Tinker yesterday. A few Candas mixed were mixed in.
Then saw a deer ~ 50 yards off I-40 directly below flight path into Tinker, then two more deer on a ROW about 3/4 mile from my house near Jones. Never had seen them on this ROW. Wanted to turn around and check them out, but had not been home since Thursday and just took my tired bones home.

We have a goose season that is put in place specifically to help control Resident Canada Geese. I dont know about Canadians I haven't ever seen/heard of those.
Been hunting for longer than most on this board have been alive, but have never killed a goose. It looks like a blast, and would take a heavy load to take them down cleanly.
I've never hunted them as I've always been told they taste bad when cooked. (I've heard the same for venison, but I'm a venison addict)
I eat what I hunt except for varmints.
Anybody have a way to cook them to entice a guy to get into the hunting? I have private ground to hunt them, just don't.
