I know some of the rest of you old farts are getting on up there in years, or have health issues too. Just a word, when you go to install grab bars, do it yourself if you are able. Also they do not have to look like crap anymore so you can make the missus happy too. I just replaced the towel bar in our hall bath with this. They are available in different colors too.

I bought three 12" ones on Amazon for about $10 each a while back. They have 3 screw holes on each end. 2 are in the bathrooms by the toilets.

I mounted 'em vertically on studs... with pilot holes and deck screws. ;)

I hope you fastened them to preinstalled plywood or studs instead of just the sheetrock. Just sayin DIYer.


One end is attached to a stud, the other to a bracket designed for use where there is no stud. Has up to a 500 lb weight limit.
