We elected to not go with granite, but go with the Quartz.
Reason why is that even though granite has to be resealed annually, if you spill red wine, or something like that on it, there will be stains and they cannot be removed.
We walked the Tulsa home show asking every counter top person in the joint, and they all agreed.
But, Granite is sure a nice looking counter top.

I'd echo Dennis. Granite was cool in the 80's. People have discovered there are better materials for counter tops. I don't do counter tops but my friend does home remodels as well as full on custom home builds. He could probably help you out and quote you a good price. Check out Woodbridge homes.
