This is the most ridiculous idea yet. I suppose they are going to ban replacement firing pins and files as well? Let's don't forget that there are (how many? 300 million?) pre microstamp firearms out there? Any criminal (and likely a lot of non criminals) will file this crap off their firing pin in about thirty minutes.

Criminals will always find a way around it.

I can see revolvers getting popular.

Autos would take 30 seconds to "fix" the stamp.

Just like they know to take a rat tail file to the barrel to "fix" the newer guns.

Wasn't this same issue brought up 2-3 years ago? If I remember correctly, there was an article that said that the company that was making the tooling for the micro-stamping were the ones behind urging lawmakers to make this into law.
