I sent an email to everyone on that list te day I got the email from the NRA, I have just now received the only reply;

March 21, 2012

Thank you for your email. *SB 1733 is the Senate version of the open
carry bill and it passed the Senate last week with my supporting vote.

HB 2522 by Treat of the Senate seems to be the bill getting all the
attention, and it is in the Senate committee process at this time. *The
bill came over with several amendments from the House creating issues
with the measure and it is believed that the Senate author is now
looking at these amendments to determine the next course of action for
the legislation. *We still have two weeks of committee work for this
bill to be heard, so there is plenty of time for this legislation to be
considered. *I appreciate your inquiry. Feel free to contact this office
at any time. Senator Greg Treat (R), Oklahoma City, can be reached at
contact information below.

Capitol Address:

Senator Greg Treat
2300 N. Lincoln Blvd., Rm. 530

SANDRA SHELTON, Executive Assistant
Senator Don Barrington

I talked with Senator Barrington's assistant today and she said the Senate had adjourned for spring break and that the Senate Public Safety Committee would not be meeting this Thursday. She said that she has recieved a lot of phone calls regarding HB2522.

WHAT THE F&@K DOES A SCHOOL HOLIDAY HAVE TO DO WITH THE OKLAHOMA SENATE?

These people are pethetic. Not only do they have to work only half a year now they want school holidays off? Sounds like a pretty sweet gig.

Based on Seth247's email response from Senator Barrington's assistance, it sounds like phone calls and emails to Senator Treat requesting his support to HB2522, as amended, are in order.

Tick tick tick tick...

The fix is in.

Keep in mind... they have a income tax bill and a lot of other stuff they really don't want to handle this year- in addition to the gun stuff.

Sad as I am to see it, I believe this is probably the truth.

Goldarn politicians... only adds to my disdain.

I should add that the letter I got in email is word-for-word identical to the one posted above. I realize form letters help you respond when you get hundreds or thousands of emails but... sheesh. This one didn't even have anything substantial in it. Sounded like a very typical politician's email.

At the email responses I got back from my personal senator and representative addressed the concerns and seemed to be written with some of them in mind.

I gotta say, Rep Earl Sears (R - Bartlesville) is a very personable guy who has on multiple occasions been quite attentive.

The current dust-up in Florida is now being tied to the Florida "castle doctrine" law (similar to our own). The longer this goes on, the more difficult it will be for some of these folks to support open carry. Time is not our friend.

We had a legistlative breakfast here in claremore last week and i spoke to sentor Sean Burrage and Rep Marty Quinn. Both indicated that they really don't pay much attention to form letter emails and especially form letter email from folks not in there districts. They want personal emails from folks in there districts. So my recommendation is that if this issue is important to each of us then we have to take the time and personally email our represenatives in both houses.
