I'm all for convenience of self-defense, but there's a point where you have a loaded firearm close enough to you that you could effectively grab it while you're asleep and that honestly scares me a little. If you're a light sleeper and it's not an issue, then cool, but I'd never do it.

I did the very same thing back during the seventies, between the lower leg of the water bed headboard and the nightstand. Also only needed one small screw. It was out of the way but relatively easy to get to. While there are always many different ideas, I do not think this is a bad one to have on the list.

??? I grab my pistol all the time while I'm asleep but I've never had an accidental discharge. At least that's what my ex-wife says.
