Anyone notice a difference in zero, or anything else? Curious if anyone has ever compared the two. The biggest difference that I see is that the Hornady's are $7 cheaper 
For some reason hornady is by far more accurate in my ar10.
My M1a prefers them also.

Factory or handloads?
Running my 168MK with varget is very close to Hornady's 168 Amax (match ammo line).
I am handloading 30-06. I currently have a dozen or so SMKs left, trying to decide what to buy next.
Anyone else have experience with these two types of bullets?
Yes, I shoot both in 308 and 30-06 - what do you want to know?
Have you ever shot the two bullets with the same loading to see if they have a different POI?
No they do not.
Hornady shot flatter and more accurate in 308.
Light target load in 30-06 @ 100 - same accuracy, 4" POI difference.

I have shot the 168 gr BTHP game king for thirty some years and God only knows how many deer. I've tried ballistic tips, soft points, etc in my reloads, and nothing compares.
I've personally done way more than a hundred autopsies on deer, and observed what a bullet does to the innards of a deer.
Soft points, do OK and kill the deer.
