Wow; tough question; I guess history shows us that most, if not all, governments do collapse at some point but I think the US will always figure out a way to survive. At least I hope so

Very interesting comments and poll results so far. I would have to agree that IF the U.S. government survives the burdening debt bullet, we might not remain "status quo" We as a country could well morph into something else entirely and it probably won't be "all good" Just thinking...mostly about my children and someday grandchildren...

A better question might be when will the Gov. be overthrown by the pissed off masses. A revolution is brewin...people are waking up and they are not happy.

I agree with the revolution, I just hope it's non-violent. Someone jokingly suggested a divorce of the socialist states and the conservative states. I kinda like this idea.

I certainly think it has the potential to be violent. There will be those that will play the racial card and they will have followers. Likely accusing those who don't agree with BHO of being racial.
Then there will be those who are dependant on the Gov. for there income who will be high and dry and looking to take whats yours to survive. We are about to write a new chapter or 2 in the history books and you are living it this time.

I voted 15 years because never is a long time. One thing is certain, things are changing here in these states. After reading a little of the Federalist Paper, I have realized the importance of the states staying together, but that being said, I think I would rather fight to survive in a free state than live in a country without the freedom that I feel like I have now.

But it's not important for ALL the states to stay together. They only had 13 when the Federalist Papers were written. I think we could shed a few and be fine.
