Anyone else have pecan trees?
We're got several hundred native and paper shells down in Okfuskee county.
Seems to be a good crop this year.
I'm hearing the pecans in Georgia aren't producing that much this year so the price is up for the rest of us.

My native pecan in the yard is doing pretty well. This is the first year we've had a good crop from that tree. Its about 20 years old this year.

My dad's trees are loaded this year but they are mostly wormy and bad.

The native in my front yard has an OK crop on it. This will the first year to produce since the ice storms. The tree is at least 65 years old by photos I've seen of my place, so I wouldn't expect it to produce regularly anyway. Its my understanding that once they get around 70, pecans pretty much quit making but I don't remember where I got that from.

From SW Oklahoma - my son brought over a bunch of pecans from his native trees last night. He has three and the limbs a weighted down with pecans this year. Those little native pecans are really loaded with flavor!
