Like with our Oklahoma return we'll probably use it to help cover the check I just wrote to pay our Federal tax bill . . . if we actually get one of them that is . . . our youngest is 18 and isn't the $500/kid only for kids 16 and under?

Correct, 16 and under if no one else is claiming them.

That is my understanding, anyways, I haven't researched it, as none of this applies to me.

I haven't seen an age, other than that listed on the 1040 as an eligible child dependent.

This is for eligibility for the $1,200, not the $500 for each child.

I read somewhere that it's a tax credit on your 2020 taxes; don't know how that works exactly.

Less than $75k, and pro rated up to $99k and supposedly it isn’t counted as income or refund. I’m sure we will all see increased tax rates at some point to pay for this boondoggle.
