I hate all these out of state transplants!

Yes there's a local one that sets off their fire alarm about 3x a day and has for the last 2 months, fire dept gets paged out every time too. Since they won't fix the issue, those who can are trying to find a legal way to fine them for every false alarm.

They definitely should, that’s a huge waste of resources especially in a rural area where resources are already strained. The utility ended up shutting their power off until they agreed to upgrade their transformers, they were also billed for destroying equipment.

Seems somewhere in the back of my mind I remember something about a Great Depression and Dust Bowl where thousands upon thousands of Okies fled to California wanting a better life. Maybe they’re just finally returning the favor. (That right there is what we call irony)
Seriously though, I agree that what we have here is a problem that’s regretfully everywhere and it’s just too easy to assign blame to a specific group. Talking with the Mrs about just this subject last night. I told her that growing up all the shows had a clear good vs evil plot be it a cop show or war movie. Then someone started producing these “Reality TV” things and that all went away. The people in this nation are mesmerized by watching people behave badly. Linda hit the nail on the head saying “people are now entertained by evil”. That sums it all up in one statement. More and more people just like evil. Sad…….but in a positive note that means the Good Lord can’t be far away.

Oklahoma definitely does not have a problem with DUI, drugs, driving without insurance, driving without license, aggressivedriver, assholes; in the RESIDENT population. 100% in the out-of-state transplants. Gotcha.

Living in the poorest County in the State, why would ANYONE sell their land AT A PREMIUM to any outsider. Makes no sense.

You should try Wyoming or BFE. It would improve this State.

You’re right I should leave because that’s what this state needs. A native Okie that legitimately loves this state and didn’t decide to move here because it’s cheap to leave.

If you would be more direct then I would know whether or not to be allied or butt hurt.

Like I have discussed with the esposita, most of our ancestors came here with the devil on their tails. The span of history says that if you intend to hold your line indefinitely then someone is going to build something on the ruins of your house or your grave. Besides like the song says, the rovin dies hard.

You know what the difference was in the dust bowl concerning Okies ( a term that applied to people from all over the region back then ) going to California for work and now? The majority of those migrant workers came straight back to the old sold when dust bowl ended .When you reference those native Californians , New Yorkers , etc today. They voted for and got the government they wanted. Then when the government they wanted starting doing things they ask it to do, they decided it was too much of a good thing and left to find max freedom again .


The problem is you can take the liberal out of a blue state but you can't take the blue state out of the liberal. I say this again as I said it in another thread even people that label themselves "conservative" in a blue state tend to be very liberal when compared to the red state measuring stick. I met more than a few who said I am Republican and yet advocated for some very leftist policies . They just weren't as leftist as their Democrat counterparts who when running for local office often times will even say in their campaign ads I am more socialist than the other socialist I am running against .
