It just might say "Marlin" on the butt plate. Can't tell for sure but that's my guess.
It certainly looks like a Marlin Model 60 (or a derivative). Doesn't look quite right for Savage.
I agree... someone posted this pic on FB and I said it was a Marlin.... some dude argued with me that it was a ruger 10/22... I was like, "dude, it's tube fed"
