If you haven't been to Blue Hole

It's an awesome cold spring feed swimming hole about 7 miles east of Salna.

It costs $10 per carload to get in or $20 if you want to camp. Here is a link from travel ok....

It's a very nice place to go to. Wife and me go every summer. The hotter it is the better the water feels.

It is almost breathtaking cold when you get it, but you adjust really quick.

Blue Hole has quite a history, and not all of it good. There are better (less crowded) places in the area to swim for free.

I'm partial to the Baron Fork at the South Welling road bridge,no charge there, no camping though.

There used to be a lot of drunken, belligerent idiots who frequented Blue Hole. I don't know about recently, but I do recall shootings happening around there years ago. Kenwood area as a whole is very secluded and the locals aren't known for being real accommodating to "outsiders". The natural rock water-slide between there and Salina is fun and a quick way to cool off - but it also gets crowded on weekends. Saline Creek is a beautiful place, but the public access areas would not be one of my first choices.You can sometimes find farmers in the area to give you creek access through their pastures for a very small fee.

alcohol is no longer allowed at Blue Hole at least not openly.
think the old woman that runs it has been cracking down on drinking the last few years.
