I'll be looking for a .22 military trainer at Wanenmachers this year. How about you?

I've got the bug to own a military training rifle in .22 LR,,,
And this year when Wanenmachers in Tulsa comes around,,,
I just might have enough money socked away to purchase one.

I would like some help though,,,
Here are the rimfire training rifles I know about:
  • British Enfield
  • Polish WZ-48
  • German Mauser DSM 34
  • German Mauser KKW
  • Norinco K-98 Mauser copy
  • Springfield 1922
  • MAS 45

What else is out there?

If any of you good folk have any pics and descriptions of military style trainiers,,,
Please post them so I can maybe add them to my look-for list.

So, what are you going to be looking for this year?

I want one I can shoot,,,
I'm not very much into collecting.

It doesn't have to be a tack driver though,,,
Minute of Coke Can at 100 yards will make me happy.

I own a K-98 Mauser that my great uncle brought back from WW-II,,,
If I could find any of the Mauser look-alike trainers,,,
I would sell my sister to the gypsies to fund it.

I may have an extra wz48 that is in great condition, but had to have the toe of the stock repaired for a crack. I have been meaning to use it for trade bait, but just never got around to posting it.

I went there as you suggested but they don't have any .22 trainers at all,,,
Just some barreled actions with no trigger groups.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

I've narrowed it down a little bit,,,
I will have at least $800.00 up to $1,100 to spend,,,
So I want to try and find a nice mate for my K-98 8mm Mauser.

A KKW would me perfect as it is a very close match to the K-98,,,
I've never had a .22 one could mount a bayonet onto.

But the reality is that those rifles typically are bringing well over a grand,,,
So the 2nd choice is to look for a DSW-34 trainer.

It's not an exact match to my K-98,,,
But it's close enough to be recognizable as a mate.

Internet auctions and listings indicate I could find one as low as $450.00,,,
But I'll need to be prepared to pay as much as $800.00 for one.

I still want to own a WZ-48 Polish Trainer,,,
Even though I'll never buy a full size Mosin-Nagant to mate it with.

The thing about that rifle is,,,
I just like the way that it looks.
