Kinda funny story.
Traded in my 2000 Chevy that I had installed a quick disconnect on the fuel rail for filling up my lawn mower. In a hurry to take my mods off before it's final trip back to the dealer I forgot the fuel pump keeps pressure on the fuel rail. Of course I had removed the Schrader valve when I installed the Q.D. I started unscrewing the fittings, dropped the Q.D. and had gas squirting every where.
Managed to stop the gas flow with a finger over the fitting but there I was with gas all over a hot engine and me thinking if this thing goes up the truck and I both are toast. Couldn't move because I was holding the gas back with my finger and if I let go I just knew the thing was going to go boom. Some how I managed to retrieve the Q.D. with my free hand and screw it back on. I immediately grabbed the water hose and washed the engine down to disperse the gas.
Plugged in my filler hose to relieve the pressure, which I should have done in the first place, removed everything and reinstalled the Schrader. Then went in the house to change my shorts.
