That's nice, my old ithaca 12 sxs has damascus barrels, wish mine looked as nice as yours and had the good barrels,Cockerill steel, which is fluid steel.

my newer ithaca sxs is the 10gauge magnum with snail ears
Sweet, Ive got to shoot an 8 gage in the middle of Tulsa (41st an Yale). That thing didn’t recoil any, much less than my BF dad’s old Stevens with dual triggers, ok mark that off my bucket listThat's nice, my old ithaca 12 sxs has damascus barrels, wish mine looked as nice as yours and had the good barrels,

Looks can be deceiving but it looks to have been taken care of. Looks like Proof Steel Barrels. Barrels should be marked as such.Does anyone know of a shotgun 'smith who can look over this circa 1900 Ithaca to see if it's safe to shoot?
Is this the proof mark?Looks can be deceiving but it looks to have been taken care of. Looks like Proof Steel Barrels. Barrels should be marked as such.
Have not seen one similar to that one. So I would say no.Is this the proof mark?
Do you have any idea what it signifies?Have not seen one similar to that one. So I would say no.
Proof marks should be on the barrel flats and the action’s watertable. You may want to run it up to Champlin’s in Enid so they can look at it. They’ll definitely be able to tell you whether it’s safe to shoot or notIs this the proof mark?
